The Orchestra
The Southeast Symphony is made up of 113 of the world's very best musicians. Our players, many of whom now play in the Hollywood recording and movie studios, join together to make one of the finest orchestras in Southern California, and one of the very few primarily African-American orchestras in the world. In addition, some of our members also perform with other orchestras around Southern California, including The Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Pacific Symphony, The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, The Golden State Pops Orchestra, The Santa Monica Symphony, The Palisades Orchestra, The Rio Hondo Orchestra, The Carson/Dominquez Orchestra, The Westchester/Marina Orchestra, The Cypress Pops Orchestra, The Bellflower Orchestra, and others. In addition, some appear as regular members of television orchestra (i.e., Dancing With the Stars), and some regularly sit in the pits of local productions of Broadway shows (i.e., The Color Purple).
We boast one of the finest roster of players anywhere.
