The Southeast Symphony Association is a not-for-profit organization established in 1948 to present and teach music to the diverse communities of Los Angeles. It aspires to remove perceived barriers from participation in, and appreciation for classical repertoire by presenting concerts in areas where access to live classical music is limited, and by offering and providing music instruction to young people in these areas. The Association's goals are realized through the concert season of The Southeast Symphony and The Southeast Symphony Conservatory. The Symphony showcases the contributions of the broad diversity of musicians, composers and conductors in the world through performances of classical music from the Baroque to the Contemporary. The Conservatory offers introductory, intermediate and advanced lessons to students through high school ago who demonstrate interest. Through these vehicles, the Association aims to educate and inspire all of Los Angeles' cultural communities.
